PARISH NURSE MINISTRY
What is Parish Nursing?
An activity of the church for ministry to the people of this church community that promotes holistic health and wellness.
The Parish Nurse, June Hoffman, RN will be a part of the ministry team in providing pastoral care. As the Parish Nurse, she will use her individual knowledge and skill and a Christ-centered theology to help individuals relate faith to healing when health concerns, worrisome situations, life choices and changes in life’s continuum threaten their balance of wholeness.
The Parish Nurse Can:
Comfort, restore, explore options, give hope, always listen, provide health education and screenings to prevent health problems, give spiritual care, and… Pray.
The Parish Nurse Cannot:
Give medications, injections, treatments, or hands on care ordered by a physician.
